Dior Paris HQ Has Been Encased! How?

Dior has been going the extra miles!

Tidak tanggung-tanggung, dalam rangka menyambut peluncuran koleksi RTW Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 karya Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior rela “membungkus” butik ikonik mereka di 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, dalam kain terpal warna-warni. It’s not that common colorful tarpaulin as you might think. 

Kain terpal tersebut menyuarakan sejumlah protest dan feminist yang terinspirasi oleh sixties youth culture. Frasa yang diungkapkan sebagian besar seperti: “Women Empowerment”, “Youthquake” oleh Diana Vreeland, serta slogan ikonik yang terdapat pada syal milik Miss Dior “C’est non, non, non et non!”

Maria Grazia Chiuri mengangkat konsep women empowerment, ia turut memasang foto-foto yang menunjukkan wanita sedang melakukan demontrasi di London pada tahun 1960-an. Dengan ini, Maria ingin menyuarakan ungkapan generasi muda yang ia rasa tidak jauh berbeda dengan yang ada pada tahun 60an lalu.

“It was a moment of great change, and this is also a moment of big change, so the reference is because in ’68, like now, the young generation send us a message. We have to listen to them and understand what they are really saying,” ungkapnya.

Their whole walls were completely covered with rallying cries that captured the winds of change, making it such a spectacular decoration!
